Q. I recently contracted conjunctivitis but, despite using the drops suggested by my pharmacist, the condition still hasn’t completely cleared up. Is there anything natural I could take to speed up my recovery?

Jon Jones, Ewell

A. Conjunctivitis occurs when the delicate membrane that covers the front of the eye gets infected and becomes inflamed. The natural alternative commonly used to treat conjunctivitis is the herb eyebright, or euphrasia, which can be taken either in tincture form or as a homoeopathic pill.

However, I have found that using colloidal silver, which has antibacterial properties, is more effective, and provides visible improvements and a reduction of pinkness and stickiness within hours.

The ultrafine silver particles in Sovereign Silver Hydrosol work to prevent infectious microorganisms from multiplying and spreading. It should not be used by those rare people who are allergic to silver.

A 60ml dropper bottle costs £12.84 from www.savant-health.com. Administer two drops to each eye, every two hours during the day.
